Japanese Friendship Garden San Diego
$5
Discounted admission ($5) from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.

About the Event

Set inside the Japanese Friendship Garden & Museum, this night market series transforms the garden into a different atmosphere. Explore layered landscapes as you move through the space after dark, and let the garden become a welcoming place where you can gather, linger, and spend time outside the usual routine. Wander winding pathways, sip on matcha, and explore a rotating mix of themed vendors and activities that change throughout the series. Whether you’re here to romanticize your evenings, unwind from work, or hang out with friends, Natsu Nights is a summer must.

The Garden will have extended hours in the upper garden on select Saturdays from June through August, so you can experience the outdoors in perfect summer weather. Discounted admission is $5 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. (upper garden only), with vendors on site from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The Japanese Friendship Garden is an expression of friendship between San Diego and its sister city Yokohama that binds the two cultures to create a unique experience for visitors from all over the world. Representing a new concept in the development of a Japanese garden outside of Japan, the Japanese Friendship Garden is well-known for its unique setting, stone arrangement, Koi pond, exhibit house and ornamental tree collection. As a valued asset to Balboa Park, the Japanese Friendship Garden of San Diego is also an educational resource to the community, providing a variety of seminars, classes and workshops as well as accredited horticultural classes. The Japanese Friendship Garden of San Diego is proud to present a remarkable collection of Japanese artifacts, a Bonsai exhibit with circulating exhibitions by Bonsai Masters and many more valuable living collections.
