Windows, Mirrors, and Wine Book Talk
About the Event
Windows, Mirrors, & Wine: A Picture Book Talk for Grown-Ups!
Join local authors and educators Veronica Scott and Rebecca Bellingham, along with author and clinical psychologist Dr. Maryam Kia-Keating, for an evening of wine, light bites, and conversation.
This bookish gathering will take place at Through the Fold bookstore in Mission Hills on Thursday, October 15, at 5:30 p.m. Whether you're an educator, parent, or fellow kid lit fan, join us for a conversation about the power of children's literature to explore identity, foster belonging, and nurture book joy.
The event will also feature Dr. Kia-Keating’s beautiful and timely new picture book, "A Suitcase Full." A book signing and mix + mingle will follow at 6:30 p.m. RSVP on Through the Fold’s events page.
Through the Fold
Through the Fold
Gail and Jennifer bring over 50 years of combined experience in education to this new adventure. More than just a bookstore, Through the Fold will be a community hub for learning and creativity for adults and children alike. The mother-daughter duo are building a home for books, events, and out-of-school programming that reflect their shared love of literacy and storytelling.
Sewing pages "through the fold" is thought of as the gold standard of binding, holding the pages together securely, while allowing the book to open fully to the riches inside.
Our dream for TTF is to be the gold standard for our community: bringing people together around a shared love of stories and creating space and opportunity for connection, creativity, and joy.
